Chip has been in the venture capital field since 1981, when he was a member of the investment staff of The Sprout Group, the venture capital affiliate of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. (now Credit Suisse First Boston Corporation). Chip has focused his investment work in the retail, ecommerce, services and information technology industries. Chip has made over 50 investments in private companies and presently sits on the Board of Directors of five of Marquette's portfolio companies.

Chip earned a BS in Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, a MS in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey and a MBA from Stanford University.
